Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients. This role includes performing thorough patient assessments, developing care plans, and managing therapeutic modalities in alignment with established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document thorough patient assessments.
• Establish and implement appropriate care plans.
• Communicate effectively with the patient care team.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy.
• Manage mechanical ventilators according to protocol.
• Provide patient and family education regarding disease management.
• Assist with intra-hospital transport of ventilated patients.
• Handle acute airway management in emergencies.
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Act as Shift Coordinator and preceptor as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Preferred experience: more than 2 years in respiratory therapy.
