Job Description

The Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) Registered Nurse will provide critical care to children with congenital heart disease and related conditions. This role requires expertise in post-operative cardiac care, hemodynamic monitoring, and the use of specialized equipment such as ECMO and VADs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for pediatric patients in the CVPICU.
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic status, including post-cardiac surgery patients.
• Administer medications, including IV vasopressors and continuous sedation.
• Perform central line care and blood draws.
• Assist with ventilator management, chest tube maintenance, and tracheostomy care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of pediatric cardiac intensive care experience.
• Active RN license in SC or Multi State/Compact RN license.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications, ACLS preferred.
• Experience with ventricular assist devices (VAD) is highly preferred.
