Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will provide comprehensive care to obstetrical patients during labor and delivery. This role requires expertise in managing high-risk deliveries, conducting sterile vaginal exams, and recovering patients post-cesarean section. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for cesarean sections.
• Provide antepartum and postpartum care, including breastfeeding support and wound assessment.
• Perform triage and assessments of obstetrical patients.
• Administer medications, including anticoagulants and magnesium sulfate therapy.
• Conduct fetal monitoring, including APGAR scoring and use of EFM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of current Labor and Delivery experience.
• Active New Jersey nursing license.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN, and FHM preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
