Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and guides patient/family teaching while overseeing the activities of other nursing personnel in the ICU. The RN must communicate effectively with physicians regarding changes in clinical conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic results.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective patient care in the ICU.
• Utilize nursing processes for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Guide patient and family education on care and treatments.
• Coordinate with other nursing staff to maintain standards of care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, critical care experience preferred
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred
• COVID vaccination/boosters preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
