Night shift: 12 nights, 36 hours per week, every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN also advocates for the care of individuals and families, ensuring compliance with all standards of practice while providing patient-centered care in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely according to hospital policy.
• Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model.
• Engage in professional development and mandatory education requirements.
• Provide support and education for new employees and students.
• May perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department.
• Traveler experience preferred, with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• ACLS Certification required.
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
