Job Description

The position coordinates and participates in all computerized tomography scanning procedures, setting up, monitoring, and operating complex computerized equipment for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and monitors the computer operation of C.T. equipment for patients.
• Transfers and positions patients using accepted safety standards and proper lifting techniques.
• Obtains patient identification and vital information, including allergies and medical history.
• Prepares and injects contrast media as needed, following protocols.
• Makes and develops images for permanent files of each patient.
• Organizes daily patient schedules in cooperation with work-room technicians.
• Maintains image quality and performs daily calibration and quality control of equipment.
• Monitors patients for allergic reactions and assists with emergency medical situations.
• Ensures compliance with safety standards and maintains cleanliness in the work environment.
• Instructs new personnel and assists Radiologists with specialized procedures.
• Reviews and records patient history to assist in diagnosis.
• Participates in quality assessments and continuous improvement activities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience required.
• Phillips experience required.
• BLS and ARRT certifications required.
