Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities while preventing illness and injury. The RN alleviates suffering through diagnosis and treatment, serving as an advocate for individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and other governing policies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Utilize pharmacological knowledge to safely administer medications.
• Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization.
• Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in professional development and continuing nursing education.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Support new employees and students in a learning environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Experience in Cardiac Telemetry, including TAVR, watchman's, mitral clips, and heart catheterization.
• Experience with preop/post op open heart care and cardiac drips.
• Nursing experience of six (6) months to three (3) years, with five (5) years of direct experience preferred.
