Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry (Day Shift)
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and relevant policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
- Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and administer medications safely.
- Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing and time management.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
- Participate in Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current NYS RN License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- ACLS Certification.
- Minimum of six months to three years of nursing (RN) experience.
- Experience in cardiac telemetry and knowledge of relevant procedures and medications.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Schedule
This position requires a day shift with 12 days scheduled over a 36-hour work week for 13 weeks.
