Job Description

The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care to patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. This role requires collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and other healthcare personnel. The nurse will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and hospital policies and procedures. The PACU RN will demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities appropriately.
• Supervise assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1+ year experience in PACU or similar setting required.
• BLS/AED certification required.
• ACLS, PALS certifications preferred.
