Job Description

The Department of Sterile and Materials Processing comprises a state-of-the-art instrument processing and sterilizing facility. This department assists in the decontamination, High Level Disinfection (HLD), assembling, sterilization, and distribution of clean and sterile surgical instruments, trays, and pans. These functions are performed using advanced decontamination, HLD, and sterilization equipment. Items are tracked using Getinge's T-DOC bar code system.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, and technical equipment.
• Operate steam sterilizers according to established procedures; perform maintenance checks on sterilizers.
• Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
• Receive and store supplies from vendors; assist in maintaining inventory levels.
• Responsible for quality assurance of all sterile supplies and instruments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD) required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• Hospital/ambulatory experience required.
• 6 months of travel experience.
• 2 professional references from the last two assignments.
• Experience with assembly, scope, and decontamination preferred.
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER Cert) is a plus.
