Registered Nurse - Surgical Short Stay/Observation

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM (Monday to Thursday). No weekends or holidays required.

Job Description

The RN in the Surgical Short Stay/Observation unit will work in a six-bay, 23-hour observation unit within a surgery center PACU. The role involves close collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and OR nurses to ensure safe and effective patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre/post-operative care for a variety of patients.
• Manage medication reconciliation and IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs.
• Conduct airway assessments and monitor patients under various types of anesthesia (conscious sedation, general, local, nerve blocks).
• Interpret and communicate lab values effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in an Operating Room or similar setting.
• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS is mandatory.
• Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
