Registered Nurse - Surgical Short Stay/Observation - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM) from Monday to Thursday. No weekends or holidays required.

Job Description

The RN Surgical Short Stay/Observation role involves working within a fast-paced observation unit, caring for a variety of patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries, interventional radiology, and gastrointestinal procedures. The nursing staff collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and operating room nurses to deliver safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients in a surgical short stay and observation setting.
• Conduct airway assessments and monitor respiratory function.
• Perform IV therapy and medication reconciliation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in operating room or surgical settings.
• Current RN license in South Carolina or multi-state/compact RN license.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
• Trauma Level experience is not required.
