Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care. This role includes the ability to scrub, circulate, and work in the recovery room as needed. Effective communication with other members of the perioperative team is essential. The nurse must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative setting.
• Effectively communicate with the surgical team members.
• Perform scrubbing, circulating, and recovery room duties as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and adherence to organizational values.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Maine.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• For PACU: Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) required (may obtain within 6 months of hire).
• For PACU: Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (PALS) required (may obtain within 12 months of hire).
• At least 1 year of perioperative experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
