Days, 12 hours (7A - 7:15P) with a 36-hour guarantee. Every other weekend and holiday required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient. The RN provides interventions to treat the presenting symptoms and evaluates the effect of nursing interventions and patient responses. The RN functions as a team leader/member and resource to others. The RN delegates, oversees, and provides direction to support staff while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to establish goals and outcomes for each patient.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care and accepted standards of evidence-based nursing practice.
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, education, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, and other duties as appropriate.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and make suggestions or participate in updating/revising the treatment plan in collaboration with team members to improve patient care.
• Maintain knowledge and compliance with local, state and federal regulations and guidelines, as well as hospital-specific policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in nursing, preferably in a Neuro PCU setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• NIHSS certification required.
• Recent travel experience is highly preferred.
