Job Description

The physical therapist will accurately assess, differentially diagnose, and identify deficits in a patient's ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. They will develop individualized treatment plans with patient-centered goals to reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability, working collaboratively to prevent the loss of mobility.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations through the process of obtaining history, relevant systems review, and administering specific tests and measures.
• Establish an individualized plan of care and select treatment techniques addressing specific impairments identified in the evaluation and physician orders.
• Conduct ongoing reassessment of the patient and their response to treatment.
• Initiate and manage the discharge plan from the first visit through treatment.
• Supervise and delegate to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws and department policy.
• Complete clear and accurate documentation within established timeframes in accordance with accreditation requirements and insurance regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members to promote maximum benefit of care.
• Assess educational needs of patients and provide appropriate education to meet those needs.
• Participate in professional growth and development through various educational programs and current literature.
• Actively participate in quality improvement activities and provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Function within scope of practice as defined by state practice acts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of PTA experience required
• Valid Texas or compact license required
