This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 4x12 hours (07:00 - 19:30). Every other weekend coverage required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical care. The RN will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, manage acute and chronic conditions, and facilitate treatments that focus on promoting overall health and well-being for adult and geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Perform various procedures including IV therapy, blood product administration, and wound care.
• Coordinate with physical therapy, respiratory services, and other support staff for optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in rapid response and code team initiatives as necessary.
• Educate patients and families about health maintenance and disease prevention.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical setting.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic charting system is required.
• Preferred skills include IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line management.
