Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 06:45 to 19:15 with approximately one call shift every two weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, performing in various specialties including Orthopedic, General, Urology, Gynecology, ENT, Podiatry, and Spine. The position requires previous travel experience and the ability to float between different surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and management of the operating room environment, including equipment and instrumentation.
• Administer care and support to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Implement infection control and safety protocols, including Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures.
• Oversee the administration of blood and blood products, along with wound management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse; prior charge experience is required.
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS.
• Ability to handle various surgical specialties and adapt to emergency situations.
• Experience with specific surgical procedures including lobe resection, lung resection, appendectomy, and spinal fusion preferred.
