Job Description

The Registered Nurse will report to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) and will implement the nursing process to provide safe and effective patient care throughout selected hospital nursing departments. The nurse will provide break relief and supplemental staffing to RNs working in the Emergency, Medical Surgical/Swing Bed, and Skilled Nursing departments. This position requires the ability to potentially move autonomously to any department for which the nurse is trained and competent.

Responsibilities

• Independently implement the nursing process to ensure patient care quality.
• Provide nursing support across different departments as needed.
• Maintain evidence of competency for patient care responsibilities.
• Deliver individualized, age-appropriate care to patients aged 0-120 years.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum one year of acute care experience within the past two years.
• At least six months of recent experience in Emergency or Critical Care settings.
• Current unencumbered RN License in California.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. BLS must be from American Heart Association.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
