Job Description

As a Registered Nurse, you will work under the supervision of the unit Supervisor/Manager/Director, responsible for the delivery of patient care through comprehensive nursing assessments and processes. You will provide direction and guidance for patient education and the activities of ancillary personnel, all while ensuring adherence to the standards of professional nursing and organizational policies. You will strive for superior performance, contributing positively to the patient and family experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients, addressing their physical, psychological, and social dimensions.
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans within designated time frames.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families while promoting independence.
• Adhere to therapeutic standards, making necessary adjustments to care based on patient needs.
• Utilize multidisciplinary strategies to resolve patient problems and needs.
• Document and communicate patient care actions to maintain continuity of care.
• Prioritize care according to individual patient needs, demonstrating a strong focus on patient education.
• Participate in continuous education and performance improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate safe practices and adherence to infection-control protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience.
• Experience floating to PCU is required.
• Proficient in telemetry and ability to read and interpret heart rhythms.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA).
• COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions allowed).
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor.
