Schedule / Shift

12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Requires 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule, and typically 2 out of 3 holidays.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. The unit has 9 Labor and Delivery beds and averages 9 births per day, with a strong emphasis on patient care and following AWHONN guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform vaginal exams and monitor fetal heart rates.
• Assist in C-sections, circulating and supporting anesthesiologists.
• Manage IV starts, blood draws, and control postpartum hemorrhage.
• Conduct newborn transitions and assign APGARS scores.
• Titrate drips including Magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin.
• Care for antepartum patients as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• AWHONN certification (Intermediate or Advanced Level).
• Experience with vaginal exams and neonatal care.
• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
• Must be comfortable with low census on-call requirements.
