Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Shift: 07:00-19:00

Join our dedicated team in a small, close-knit family-oriented unit specializing in labor and delivery at a facility located in Richmond, VA. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care for our laboring patients and newborns.

Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 11 Labor Beds / 2 Triage / 2 OR
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 for laboring patients, 3:1 for couplets
• Type of Equipment: Monica - wireless fetal monitoring / GE fetal monitoring
• Documentation System: Meditech / CPN
• Unit Staffing Description: Birth Registrar / Surgical OR Techs available

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret fetal monitor readings and manage high-risk antepartum care.
• Provide active labor management and assist in C-section circulation.
• Deliver post-partum care, perform circumcision assist procedures.
• Administer bili light care and conduct lab draws from mother and baby.
• Administer magnesium for pre-eclamptic patients.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license.
• Skills in fetal monitor interpretation and active labor management.
• Experience in high-risk antepartum care and post-partum support.
• Current certifications in NRP and BLS.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Unit Policies and Certifications

• Hospital Certifications: Burn Certified / Trauma Certified
• Dress Code: Required navy uniforms
• Scheduling Requirements: Rotational shifts every 3rd weekend
• Floating Policy: May float to Sister Facility LD/PP
