Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Med/Surg Registered Nurses (RNs) for 12-hour day shifts in a dynamic 12-bed Med/Surg department. This unit is currently functioning as an overflow department, adjusting its operations based on the needs of incoming patients from the Emergency Department (ED) and staffing requirements. As we expand our team, we are looking for professionals who are ready to make a significant impact on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 12-bed acute care unit.
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform routine assessments.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Assist in offloading patients from the Emergency Department as needed.
• Maintain a patient-nurse ratio not exceeding 1:6, ensuring high-quality care even at full capacity.
• Participate in ongoing education and training programs.
• Document patient care using the EPIC charting system.

Qualifications

• Current and unexpired Registered Nurse license.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Ability to comply with 50-mile radius submission rule.
• Disclosure of any background hits at the time of submission is required.
• No BSN requirement.

Shift Details

This position offers:

• 12-hour day shifts, with a requirement for weekends as scheduled.
• A guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Code of conduct regarding reassignment to other departments as necessary.

Contract Details

This position is for a 91-week contract duration.
