Job Title: MedSurg Medical Stroke Nurse

Shift Details

Shift: 12-Hour Nights
Schedule: Weekends as assigned

Unit Information

• Cost Center: 5N - MedSurg Medical Stroke
• Daily Census: 26-28 patients
• Focus: COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, occasional surgical overflow (e.g., thyroidectomy)
• Team comprises OCM (Observation Care Management) and up to 35 beds; flexing required
• Experience with NIHSS and stroke patients is a plus

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MedSurg Medical Stroke Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care settings and a passion for providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical/surgical unit.
• Monitor patient vital signs, medications, and health conditions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize EPIC for accurate charting and patient records.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred.
• Travel experience is highly preferred.

Additional Information

Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Cancellation Policy: Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment (1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks)
