Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic healthcare team for a 12-hour night shift from 1845 to 0715. The successful candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care in an acute care setting, catering to a diverse patient population, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates (if NICU trained).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis.
- Administer respiratory treatments and adjust ventilator settings as needed.
- Assist in intubation procedures and attend all deliveries and C-sections (if NICU trained).
- Participate in clinical rounds with intensivists and other medical staff.
- Drive to the Foothills ER as needed and float between departments.
- Be available for every other weekend and work two of three major holidays.
- Complete one day of unit/department-specific orientation per area (NEO, ED, ICU, floor; additional NICU training if applicable).
Requirements
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) are required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a respiratory therapist (first-time travelers welcome).
- AZ RRT license is required; CRT not accepted.
- Medical knowledge related to vent management and ABG interpretation.
- Ability to float between units and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
Equipment Used
- Ventilators: Avea, Hamilton C1.
- Bipap machines: V60, EV300.
- HiFlow therapy device: Aerovo 2.
- Zoll ventilators for backup and Glidescope/Glidescope-GO for intubation assistance.
Work Environment
- Location: Acute care, inpatient settings, and Foothills freestanding ER (15-minute drive).
- Shift: Night shift from 1845 to 0715.
- Dress code: Black scrubs are required.
Orientation & Training
The onboarding process will include a combination of unit-specific orientations based on your prior experience and training needs. The goal is to ensure you are comfortable and confident in your role from day one.

Additional Information
We adhere to a 100-mile radius rule for this position. Candidates may be placed on “low census” as needed, and the cancellation policy allows for client cancellation of hours equivalent to the weekly guaranteed hours for the assignment.
