Job Title: Night Shift Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Night Shift Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in basic life support (BLS) and medical/surgical telemetry care. This position will require a commitment to providing high-quality patient care, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Patient Ratios: Eve ratios of 5 to 1 (stretch 6/7); Night ratios of 6/7 to 1 (stretch 8/9)
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilization of Rapid Response Teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy, including peripheral line care and management
• Administering oxygen and non-invasive airway management
• Implementing isolation precautions as required
• Monitoring patients with cardiovascular issues and wounds

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year of recent experience required
• Certifications: BLS certification required
• Technical Skills: Epic charting experience preferred; must have the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
• Licensure: NY State license in hand required; no pending licenses accepted
• Additional Requirements: Ability to float to medical-surgical (MS), intensive care unit (ICU), and emergency department (ED) care as needed.

Orientation

Orientation for new hires includes 4 hours of classroom training with an educator, followed by hands-on orientation on the unit throughout the rest of the 12-hour shift.
