Job Title: Labor and Delivery RN
Shift:
Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide essential care in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn units. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in LDRP, L&D, PP, and Newborn care. The ideal candidate will possess an active compact license and meet specific qualifications outlined below.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care during labor and delivery.
- Administer medications and IVs, including blood and blood products.
- Assist with both vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Monitor patients for complications and maintain proper records.
- Collaborate with medical and ancillary staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Conduct patient assessments and provide patient education.
- Float between different units as needed based on patient care requirements.
Qualifications:
- Required Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BCLS, NRP.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- Experience in high-risk obstetrics preferred.
- Ability to float between units as required.
- Strong knowledge of maternal and newborn care protocols.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills:
- Circulate for cesarean sections.
- Start and maintain peripheral IVs.
- Administer and manage various medications (including magnesium sulfate and insulin drips).
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetric patients.
- Utilize intrauterine pressure catheters and PCA units.
Staffing & Scheduling:
- Staffing ratio: 1:1-3.
- Orientation hours and other scheduling details will be discussed during the interview.
