Job Opportunity: Med Surg Clinical Observation Unit - 12H Nights

Position Overview

Join our dedicated healthcare team in a Med Surg Clinical Observation Unit. This position offers 12-hour night shifts with a supportive environment aimed at promoting learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care with a focus on clinical observation.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6.
• Collaborate with medical staff and students in a teaching hospital setting.
• Adapt to a dynamic environment, including the possibility of patient census changes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant specialty.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Cerner experience is a plus.
• Active Virginia or Compact License required at the time of submission.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of application.

Schedule Details

• 12-hour night shifts; assignments conclude on Saturday.
• Orientation occurs every other week on Mondays.
• Requires availability for 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs.
• Local applicants within 60 miles are not accepted for this role.

Additional Information

This position may involve float requirements, though floating is not mandatory. Be prepared to engage with students and new staff, contributing to a culture of support and education.
