Job Title: Registered Nurse - Neuro Progressive Care

Shift & Schedule

Day 3x12-Hour Shift (07:00 - 19:00) - Weekend and holiday availability required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Progressive Care Unit. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to medical neurological patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, a strong background in neuro care, and a willingness to float as needed across various facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals with medical neurological conditions.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and complex neurological assessments.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips as required.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, including participation in EKG assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy.
• Support the education and support of families and patients dealing with neurological conditions.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Neuro Progressive Care setting.
• Experience with EKG monitoring and management.
• Strong knowledge of CVA, external CPAP/BiPAP, and neuro assessment protocols.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required.
• Must have Epic charting system experience.
• Previous Charge RN experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Must be flexible with scheduling and compliant with a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and absences.
• Ability to complete a Pass/Fail EKG exam during the compliance process.
• Willingness to float to various units as necessary.
• Completion of all pre-start compliance requirements by the designated deadline.

Unit Overview

The Neuro Progressive Care Unit is a 30-bed facility focused on the care of patients with complex neurological conditions. You will be part of a team providing surveillance and monitoring supportive to medical neurological care through a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD).
