Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment, particularly in the inpatient department caring for patients with multiple co-morbidities, including specialized stroke (neuro) care. This position requires flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to high standards of patient care.

Position Overview

The RN will work night shifts and is expected to float between all healthcare facilities as needed. Candidates must have at least 2 years of nursing experience and be proficient in telemetry monitoring and other essential skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care and monitor patients utilizing telemetry systems.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Epic charting system.
  • Provide care for patients requiring feeding tube management, central line care, and blood product administration.
  • Ensure patients’ safety by implementing isolation precautions and wound care management.
  • Float to other units and facilities as required while providing high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Experience in telemetry monitoring (remote and on-unit) preferred.
  • Ability to access ports, start IVs, and manage a variety of lines (PICC, peripheral).
  • Experience with patient ratios of 1:5-6.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory EKG exam as part of compliance.

Additional Information

This role involves occasional holidays and weekend shifts, with an emphasis on maintaining a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio. Candidates must exhibit flexibility and a strong commitment to adherence to policies concerning attendance and tardiness.

Compliance Requirements

  • Full compliance file required by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date.
  • No open cases on background checks; license in hand required at submission.
  • Education verification through a third party is mandatory.
  • All applicants subject to medical/religious exemptions for mandatory vaccines.
