Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 30
• Number of Staff: 40+
• Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge/CNC; 4-5 RNs/LPNs, 2-3 NAs
• Night Shift Staffing: 1 Charge/CNC; 4-5 RNs/LPNs, 2-3 NAs
• Patient Ratios:
  • SD/ICU: 2-4:1
  • Med-Surg: 5-6:1

Equipment and Technology

• IV pumps
• SCDs
• Nova Stat glucometer
• Wound vac
• Baxter feeding pump
• Lift equipment as appropriate
• Pyxis (nurses only)

EMR: Cerner

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Licenses/Certifications: All RNs must possess BLS and ACLS certifications before the end of orientation; PCT/NAs are required to have BLS.
• Preferred Experience: RNs with ICU/Stepdown or at least 1 year of med/surg experience.

Typical Procedures

• IV starts
• Central Venous Lines (CVL)
• Arterial lines
• Foley catheters
• EKG monitoring
• Wound care

The successful candidate will possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and will be capable of providing care across all levels from med/surg to ICU.

• Dress Code:
  • Nurses: Navy blue scrubs
  • NAs: Galaxy/Royal blue scrubs
• Unit Guidelines: Acute Care utilizes a Team-Based Care model where all care providers meet daily to discuss patient care and discharge needs.
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Weekend rotation includes 3 Monday and Friday shifts per 6-week scheduling; holidays as per staffing matrix.
• Position Status: 1/1. Contract Weeks: 91.
