Job Title: Surgical Technologist - CVOR

Shift: 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist with specialized experience in Cardiovascular Operating Rooms (CVOR). This role involves supporting surgeons during cardiac surgeries, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring quality patient care throughout operative procedures.

Unit Profile

Join a dynamic healthcare team in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital with a strong focus on cardiac care.

Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds: 15 ORs
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Documentation System: Meditech
• On-Call Requirements: Yes, night and weekend shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgeries, anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Maintain and manage the sterile field during procedures.
• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for cardiac surgeries.
• Perform tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors, and manipulating endoscopic cameras.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school for Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) required upon hire.
• Two years of experience in a similar healthcare facility.
• Competence in specialty areas including Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Burn, and Vascular Surgery.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and da Vinci assisted thoracoscopy.
• Ability to perform as a lead in various specialty procedures.
