Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. The nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive obstetrical care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases. This is a night shift position requiring commitment and expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for Labor and Delivery patients using the Nursing Process in line with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in planning for safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continued education and training.
• Delegate patient care priorities appropriately based on staff education and experience.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel in delivering patient care.
• Manage a patient ratio of 2:1.
• Float to the nursery and postpartum areas as needed.

Requirements

• Must possess a current TN License.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; NRP and Fetal Monitoring certifications are preferred (must obtain within 6 months).
• Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Cerner.
• Travelers must be located more than 50 miles from the facility.
• Submission must include home address and SSN for processing.

Contract Details

This is a contractual position with guaranteed hours over a 91-week assignment.
