Job Description
Job Title: Acute Care Radiology Technologist
Position Summary
The Acute Care Radiology Technologist provides health care services by performing X-Rays to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role involves executing X-Ray procedures and related techniques that produce images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
Shift Information
- Type: Overnight Shifts
- Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off
- Hours: 36 hours a week
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent
- Montana Licensure (Radiology Technologist)
- American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT), R.T. (R)
- American Heart Association BLS certification within three months of hire
- One (1) year of previous radiology experience, including clinical internship experience
- Demonstrates competency in advanced imaging techniques including fluoroscopic/C-Arm in the OR, Trauma, and portable radiography within 6 months
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing services to NICU, CCU, and ED
Essential Job Functions
- Performs radiographic exams as requested by all health care providers
- Conducts fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside radiology providers
- Performs US-guided paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis
- Educates patients on prep and post-care of radiology procedures
- Assists radiology nursing with fluoroscopically guided PICC placements
- Executes C-arm fluoroscopy exams in the OR as required by surgeons
- Completes documentation for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
- Retrieves written orders and relevant health information
- Participates in quality monitoring and improvement initiatives
- Educates radiography students, new hires, and fellow radiology techs

- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Capable of working extended hours, including sitting, standing, or walking for eight or more hours daily
- May require on-call availability
Potential Exposures
- Bloodborne pathogens (e.g., blood, bodily fluids)
- Radiation from medical imaging procedures
- Chemicals and medications used in healthcare
- Infectious diseases from patient contact
- Emotionally challenging situations with patients and families
Important Note
The facility reserves the right to cancel three (3) shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances. Applicants must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered.
