Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is executed effectively. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, and plays a key role in patient safety and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of personalized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient, collaborating with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely updates on patient information and status during team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring high-quality direct care based on the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and commence patient teaching as required.
• Effectively communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Directly supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel in a positive and constructive manner.
• Contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and reporting hazards promptly.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and identify personal professional growth opportunities.
• Prioritize patient care tasks to effectively meet all patient needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required (specific to certain facilities).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
