ICU Per Diem Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Per Diem Nurse for 12-hour shifts to join our dynamic team. All contracts must run through the full holiday season, and there is no guaranteed return time off (RTO) for the three major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure a safe healing environment.
• Assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans.
• Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.

Required Qualifications

• Currently licensed by New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• Minimum certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
• Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient in handling confidential information and managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Computer literate, preferred experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association recommended within 2 years of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) recommended within 2 years of hire.

Patient Care Skills

The staff member must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit, including:

• Pediatric
• Adolescent
• Adult
• Geriatric
