Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position requires commitment through the holiday season and the month of January. The ideal candidate will work a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts, both day (7a-7p) and night (7p-7a), with holiday rotation included.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.

Qualifications

• License: Must be currently licensed by NYS as a registered professional nurse.
• Certifications:
  • Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (certifications must be from AHA/RQI system during clinical orientation).
  • Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire.
  • CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Certifications:
  • Emergency Nurses Association certification recommended within 2 years of hire.
  • TNCC recommended within 2 years of hire.

Skills and Competencies

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records preferred.

Patient Care

The ideal candidate must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data reflective of various age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and provide appropriate care tailored to these specific needs.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a commitment to work through the holiday season. Shift rotation includes both day and night assignments.
