Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Night Shift position in a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with medical conditions. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position requires flexibility with scheduling and the ability to float between facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes.
• Perform EKGs, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage telemetry.
• Provide patient education on health management and post-discharge care.
• Assist with feeding tube management and wound care.
• Participate in rapid response and utilize critical thinking in emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical surgical or telemetry setting.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to float to various Cone Health facilities as needed.
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are required (medical/religious exemptions accepted).

Patient Care Details

• Adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Daily census of approximately 21 patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.

Additional Information

The compliance deadline for all regulatory requirements is 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date. Candidates must pass a mandatory EKG exam as part of their compliance process.

This is a 26-week assignment with rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled. If offered, candidates must accept the full contract length.
