Shift Details

This position is for a Night 3x12-Hour shift, from 19:00 to 07:00. Relief charge shifts are scheduled for Wednesdays.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced OR RN Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Operating Room and providing high-quality nursing care to surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in the OR setting, ensuring a high standard of care and safety.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff.
• Coordinate with surgical teams and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Assist in general, ortho, spine, trauma, and neuro surgeries, particularly craniotomies.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and protocols.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid compact license.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• Minimum of 2 years and 3 months of charge experience required.
• Experience in a Level I trauma center preferred, although recent experience in a Level II trauma center may be considered.
• Proficient in Cerner charting system.

Work Environment

This position is based in a Level I trauma center with 11 high-volume OR rooms catering to various specialties, including ortho, trauma, spine, and minimal pediatrics.

Additional Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Weekend Requirements: As needed, typically every 3rd weekend.
• Floating: Not required.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week with potential on-call schedule.
