Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Night 3x12.0

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees while providing comprehensive nursing services to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate ongoing systematic assessment of patients' physical, emotional, social, and functional needs through interviews, observations, and physical examinations.
• Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit, completing nursing database within 24 hours.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans with problem identification, nursing diagnosis, interventions, and discharge planning.
• Teach and counsel patients and families, referring them to appropriate resources as needed.
• Document patient care activities diligently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in medical records.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of rehabilitation goals.
• Assess safety and fall risk levels for patients and manage medication administration per established protocols.
• Handle emergency situations promptly following established procedures and initiate CPR as necessary.
• Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments of assigned patients and respond effectively to changes in patient condition using the SBAR method.
• Provide wound care, basic ventilator management, and oversee delegated tasks to LPNs and aides.
• Engage in quality improvement activities related to nursing and maintain current nursing licensure and competencies.

Qualifications:

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• Minimum Two (2) Years of Bedside Clinical Experience (Highly Desired)
