Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on the night shift. In this role, you will maintain the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed, while supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences and re-evaluations.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in medical records.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on assigned units, using the nursing process to prioritize patient education and care.
- Initiate discharge planning on admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date.
- Communicate any changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while managing time and prioritizing effectively.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Engage in team-building activities to foster a positive and efficient work environment.
- Maintain communication with management regarding necessary supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
- Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Qualifications
- BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
- Completion of at least one assignment with the current agency is required.
- PCU experience required.
