Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry capacity. This position involves working night shifts, including every other weekend and holidays as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and will be comfortable floating as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care for observation patients, surgical patients, and those with general medical/surgical diagnoses.
• Manage the care of patients with respiratory conditions and perform palliative, end-of-life, and hospice care.
• Administer and manage chest tubes, colostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tubes, and wound care.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias; utilize telemetry equipment effectively.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary support team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacists.
• Complete appropriate documentation using the EPIC charting system.
• Participate in Rapid Response Teams and ensure adherence to isolation precautions.

Qualifications:

• Current RN License in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; prior charge RN experience preferred.
• Experience with telemetry and a proficiency in the EPIC charting system is required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Ability to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding.
• Flexible with scheduling and available for potential floating and call as needed.
• All RNs are required to have a clean background check and meet compliance requirements by the start date.

Work Environment:

This is a fast-paced medical surgical unit with a focus on caring for adult and geriatric patients. The average daily census is 16, and you will work within a unit that encompasses 30 beds.

Requirements:

• Willingness to complete pre-start compliance in a timely manner.
• Ability to float to any campus if needed.
• Preparation for EKG testing as part of the compliance process.
• Must have no upcoming vacations or time off that will interfere with compliance.
