Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry (Night Shift)

• Contract Length: 91 Weeks
• Patient Ratio: 6 patients per nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Telemetry unit for the night shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and telemetry nursing. This position involves caring for a diverse patient population, including observation patients, individuals with respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, and those requiring palliative and hospice care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care while adhering to protocols and best practices.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and address any dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services.
• Perform EKGs and assist with patient assessments and education.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using the Epic charting system.
• Float to other units as needed based on census and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting.
• Ability to pass a pass/fail EKG exam during the onboarding process.
• Comfortable with floating to different units as required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior Charge RN experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Availability for night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM).
• Flexibility with scheduling, as occasional weekends and holidays may be required.
• No upcoming vacations or conflicts that would interfere with compliance deadlines.
