**Job Description: ICU Registered Nurse (RN)** Are you an experienced ICU Registered Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced clinical environment? We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join our dynamic team in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This position offers an engaging and supportive atmosphere where you can utilize your skills and experience to provide top-notch patient care. **Position Details:** - **Location:** San Antonio, TX - **Unit:** CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) - **Shift:** 19:00 - 07:00 (Rotating weekends) - **Assignment Length:** 13 or 26 weeks - **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week - **Float Policy:** All travelers are required to float as per unit policy **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality patient care in the CVICU, specifically post-operative cardiac surgeries and procedures. - Monitor hemodynamic status using advanced techniques including swans and arterial lines. - Manage ventilators and implement critical care protocols. - Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes. - Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner using the Meditech system. **Qualifications:** - **Licensure:** Active TX RN License (temporary licenses will not be accepted) - **Experience:** A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required, with a strong focus on cardiovascular care. - **Certifications:** Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification are mandatory. - **Skills:** Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and possess strong critical thinking skills. **Preferred Skills/Experience:** - Exposure to IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) and CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) is highly desirable. - Familiarity with Meditech charting and order entry systems. **Dress Code:** - Navy scrub top and pant are mandatory, along with a navy or white scrub jacket. - Clean and professional appearance; hair should be neat and free from extreme styles or colors. - Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited, and body art should be covered whenever possible. **General Requirements:** - Attend all scheduled shifts punctually; any clock-in after 6:45 AM/PM will be considered tardy. - Participate in a full 30-minute lunch break as per unit policies.
