**Job Title: Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) - 3x12 Hour Shifts** **Shift Details:** - **Schedule:** Night Shift (18:45 - 07:15) - **Contract Length:** 16-18 weeks - **Hours:** 36 or 48 hours per week available **Job Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced 2nd GI unit. This position requires at least 2 years of nursing experience, including a minimum of one year as a traveling nurse. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of gastrointestinal conditions and telemetry, as well as the ability to manage a diverse patient population with various complexities. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions, anemias, infections, and post-operative recovery. - Monitor and interpret telemetry data; manage cardiac patients in 10 dedicated telemetry beds. - Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes. - Maintain appropriate patient ratios, typically striving for 1:6, with potential fluctuations based on staffing needs. - Float to other medical/surgical units as required to meet patient care demands. **Required Skills and Certifications:** - **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; 1 year of travel nursing experience required. - **Certifications:** Active BCLS; ACLS preferred. - **Skills:** Proficient in IV start, blood product administration, central line care/management, and telemetry monitoring. **Unit Details:** - Fast-paced environment with a daily census of approximately 30 patients. - Opportunity for professional growth in a collaborative, supportive setting. - Unit systems used include PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for effective patient management. **Additional Requirements:** - Must pass EKG testing prior to the start. - Ability to work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays. - Comfortable floating to other units and hospitals when necessary. **Work Environment:** Our 2nd GI unit provides a robust mixture of patient care, with a focus on admissions related to GI conditions and surgical recovery.
