**Job Title: Night Shift Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse (4x12 Hour)** **Shift Details:** - Schedule: Night Shift (18:45 - 07:15) - Contract Length: 16-18 weeks - Type: 12-hour shifts with potential for 36 or 48 hours per week - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend **Job Description:** We are seeking an experienced Night Shift Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse to join our fast-paced unit. This role will involve caring for a diverse patient population, including those with gastrointestinal conditions, infections, and renal issues. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, particularly in telemetry monitoring and managing complex patient care. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, particularly in managing GI conditions, anemia, infections, and post-operative surgical care. - Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients in our telemetry beds. - Administer medications and perform necessary procedures, including IV starts and blood product administration. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services, to ensure comprehensive patient care. - Maintain fast-paced service with a focus on turning over beds efficiently, while ensuring optimal patient outcomes. - Float to other medical/surgical units as needed to meet staffing requirements. **Required Qualifications:** - Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of travel experience in a similar role. - Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). - Proficient in telemetry monitoring and experienced with Epic charting system. **Special Note:** - EKG testing must be passed prior to start. - Candidates must be comfortable floating to other units based on needs. **Patient Ratios:** - Target patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6; may vary to 1:7 depending on staffing. **Dress Code:** - Scrubs in navy and/or white.
