**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery** **Shift:** 12-Hour Days (0645-1915) **Location:** [Specify Location or Remove] **Contract Duration:** 13 to 26 weeks **Job Description:** We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery unit. This position requires a dynamic individual who is dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients and their families during the childbirth process. The ideal candidate will have experience in obstetrical nursing and be comfortable performing a variety of clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide comprehensive care to patients with a focus on labor and delivery. - Conduct vaginal exams and monitor fetal heart rates. - Utilize skills in scalp electrode placement as needed. - Circulate C-sections and assist anesthesiology during procedures. - Perform newborn assessments and care transitions, including APGAR scoring. - Manage postpartum hemorrhage control and administer interventions as necessary. - Titrate drips including magnesium, Pitocin, insulin, and blood products. - Collaborate with OB/Neonatologists and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Care for antepartum patients when needed and provide assistance during water births if qualified. - Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and team members, particularly emphasizing cultural sensitivity for Spanish-speaking individuals. **Requirements:** - Active RN license - Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, Advanced or Intermediate AWHONN - Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred - Comfortable with mainstream obstetric practices and technology, including EFM systems and EPIC charting **Schedule and Availability:** - 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; typically includes Saturdays and Sundays - 2 out of 3 holidays required (includes eve/day of holidays); must agree to holiday requirements - Low census on-call responsibilities may be expected - Willingness to float between NICU/Peds/Womens, MedSurg, and ICU as needed **Orientation:** - Includes one NEO session, one clinical education session, and a day floor orientation **Why Join Us:** As a part of our team, you will have access to: - **Health Benefits:** Comprehensive medical, vision, dental, and life insurance starting on Day 1. - **Onboarding Made Easy:** We handle all necessary onboarding details, allowing you to prioritize patient care. - **Clinical Support:** Our in-house clinical team is available for assistance and advocacy. - **401k Retirement Savings Plan:** After a qualifying period, contribute to a 401k plan with a 4% company match. - **Recruiter Matching:** Get paired with a recruiter that understands your preferences and specialties.
