Job Description
**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)** **Shift: Day 3x12.0** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The RN will be responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that nursing care plans are effectively followed. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, while actively promoting a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff alike. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Patient Assessments:** Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, using data to create personalized care plans. - **Patient Education:** Identify educational needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis, collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. - **Documentation:** Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record, in compliance with hospital policies. - **Rehabilitation Participation:** Engage in the patient rehabilitation program, providing comprehensive direct care by following the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with an emphasis on education. - **Discharge Planning:** Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, providing relevant teaching in anticipation of discharge. - **Communication:** Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to all relevant care providers, including attending physicians and charge nurses, to ensure continuity of care. - **Team Leadership:** Direct, train, and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, employing effective problem-solving techniques and delegation of responsibilities. - **Safety Assurance:** Uphold personal and environmental safety standards in accordance with healthcare policies. - **Team Collaboration:** Foster a collaborative unit environment through calm direction and teamwork, contributing positively to unit dynamics. - **Resource Management:** Maintain communication regarding supply needs and equipment repair, delivering care in a cost-effective manner while focusing on quality outcomes. - **Professional Development:** Engage in continuous professional growth through ongoing education and self-study, and identify opportunities for improvement. - **Additional Duties:** Perform other responsibilities as requested to support patient care objectives and organizational goals. **Qualifications:** - Current BLS certification required before the first shift. - ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific locations may vary). - Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
