**Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg/Telemetry** **Shift: 12-Hour Nights** **Unit Overview:** We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Med/Surg/Telemetry unit. This unit features 48 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-7 during daytime shifts and 1:6-8 at night. The unit accommodates patients with a variety of diagnoses including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, altered mental status, gastrointestinal bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, and other conditions related to falls and weakness. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. - Administer medications and titrate drips as needed, except for cardiac drip titration. - Conduct assessments and monitor vital signs, blood glucose levels, and EKGs. - Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists and patient care technicians. - Assist in the integration of patient care and education to support recovery. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner - Soarian charting system. **Requirements:** - Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcome. - Current BLS certification and active RN license. - Ability to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation as required. - Flexibility to float to other Medical/Surgical, Medical/Surgical Telemetry, or IMC units for lower acuity patients as needed. - Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing compassionate care. **Work Environment:** - Charge Nurses available on each shift; each Charge Nurse on day shifts may take a patient assignment if there are two scheduled. - Patient care techs are available with a typical ratio of 1:10-12, supporting nurses with duties such as bathing, feeding, and positioning patients. - Registered Nurses are not required to read telemetry strips, as monitoring techs are present to assist in interpretation. **Orientation and Training:** - One day of unit-specific orientation with an educator, followed by one day with a preceptor for hands-on training. **Contract Details:** - Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week - Contract duration: 91 weeks **Why Work with Us?** At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
