**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hematology/Oncology Unit (12 Hour Nights)** **Location: Acute Care Facility** **Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)** **Contract Duration: 126 Weeks** **Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week** **Job Overview:** We are seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Hematology/Oncology Unit. This role provides an excellent opportunity for nurses looking to deepen their experience in a high-acuity setting. Ideal candidates will have a background in trauma care and familiarity with hematology and oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver confident and compassionate care to patients with hematological and oncological conditions. - Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects, following prescribed protocols. - Monitor patient vitals and response to treatment, adjusting care as needed. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Maintain proficiency in electronic health record systems, specifically Epic. - Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care. - Assist with the administration of medication drips, such as heparin or amiodarone, as indicated. - Participate in unit activities and continue professional development in hematology and oncology nursing. **Qualifications:** - Current and valid nursing license. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred for charge nurses. - Previous experience in a Level 1 Trauma or larger facility setting is strongly preferred. - Experience with high-acuity patients, including understanding the care for chest tubes, lines, and monitors. - Strong teamwork and communication skills, with an ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. - Compliance with flu vaccination requirements and fingerprint clearance. **Unit Environment:** - 32-bed unit with a patient-nurse ratio of 1:5 to 1:6, adjusted for patient acuity. - Supportive management presence, with nurse managers available weekdays and house supervisors covering weekends. - Each unit is equipped with telemetry systems for continuous patient monitoring. **Shifts & Scheduling:** - 12-hour shifts, with self-scheduling options available. - Weekend requirements: three weekends per month rotation. - Open to block scheduling to accommodate personal preferences when possible. **Dress Code:** - Solid-colored, professional scrubs of any color. **Orientation:** - Comprehensive orientation upon hire, providing necessary access and training for successful integration into the unit. --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
