Job Description
**Job Title: Perinatal Registered Nurse (RN)** **Shift:** Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) **Location:** Acute Care Hospital, Beachside **Job Description:** Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Perinatal Registered Nurse (RN) in our acute care facility specializing in high-risk pregnancies. As part of our nursing staff, you will work in a supportive environment that prioritizes maternal and newborn care, operating within a continuum of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum services. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist with labor and delivery, including fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring. - Provide care in antepartum and labor rooms, with the potential for postpartum couplet care if needed. - Perform vaginal deliveries and assist in C-sections, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy, to deliver comprehensive patient care. - Float to the postpartum unit as necessary and perform ongoing assessments for both mother and newborn. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patient care protocols and hospital policies, ensuring compliance with best practices and quality standards. **Qualifications:** - Current California RN license. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with experience in high-risk antepartum and postpartum care preferred. - Certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, NRP, FHM. - Experience with Epic charting system. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and float between departments as required. **Additional Information:** - Hospital currently performs 200-300 deliveries per month, and you will be expected to participate in weekend shifts, approximately every other weekend. - The facility prioritizes privacy and safety for all patients, including high-profile individuals. - Orientation and training will be provided to ensure seamless integration into the nursing team.
